Twin Sleep in the First 6 Months

What’s normal, what’s not, and how to survive it.

Some twins sleep long stretches early. Some wake constantly. Some nap well. Some don’t. All of it is normal.

Every Twin Sleeps Differently

Expect chaos. Short naps, unpredictable nights, cluster feeding, and zero rhythm. This stage is survival, not structure.

The First 8 Weeks

Patterns start forming. Wake windows matter more. Naps lengthen slightly. But twins may still be on different sleep needs.

Months 2–3

The 4‑month regression hits hard. More night waking. Short naps. Increased fussiness. This is developmental — not something you caused.

Months 4–5

Sleep becomes more predictable. 3–4 naps shift to 2–3. Longer stretches at night. Twins may finally sync — or stay different, which is still normal.

Month 6

What Helps Most

- predictable wake windows  - earlier bedtime  - dark room + white noise  - feeding before naps  - separating twins only if they wake each other Small changes make big differences.

This is not the season for a perfect home or perfect days.  This is the season for softness, grace, and survival.
